Lawyers must adapt with the times or risk being left behind.

We must take off the blindfold and open both of our eyes.

When we do so, we will see that rapid planetary and technological disruptions are underway severely altering the landscape of law.

For us to remain socially and commercially relevant, we must adapt in accordance with how Earth systems and technology are beckoning us to move.

To adapt to these changes, we must rapidly change and upskill ourselves. We must look outside of what is known to us, outside of our own dominant worldview.

We must embrace diverse and intersectional perspectives from Indigenous wisdom in order to create diverse and intersectional legal solutions to bridge the world of now and the world of the future.

Such change starts with an individual - you as a lawyer, your mind and your own ways of thinking and knowing.

From you, it then cascades through your work, profession and into the entire legal system.

As you start changing, you exit your silo and begin to connect the dots in your mind, and your social and professional networks.

Such change is unstoppable and I truly believe that such change can be a powerful vehicle in moving our profession towards the future that will serve all of life.
